After borrowing a book on quilting from the library last year I felt inspired to make a cot quilt.
I ended up having more fabric than necessary so I decided to add an extra panel, meaning it's square, not rectangular (and hence, not really a cot quilt anymore.)
I think if a real quilter saw it up close they would quite possibly cry. The stitching isn't straight, some of the squares ended up smaller than others, I didn't want to fork out $70 for a quilting foot for my machine which means the stitching through the quilt leaves a lot to be desired, I had no idea what I was doing with the binding etc etc... from a distance it doesn't look too shabby though.
